Our new school year kicked off with a brand new, whole school art project which is focusing on our local landscape and artists: Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. To begin this exciting project, local artist Lucy Seeds worked with each class to look at specific landscape drawing skills such as perspective and the vanishing point in drawing. Each class spent the remainder of the session outside mark-making with a stick and paint- exploring texture, scale and shape.
Delving further into landscape composition each class looked at how the foreground, middle ground and background merge to form a balanced and captivating composition.
Back in class, each year group will use different drawing materials to create a final piece. One question remains: will you be able to tell where the picture was drawn?
