⚽ Chelsea Coaches Visit – Premier League Performance in Our Playground! 🌧️💙
On Thursday 11th June, we were delighted to welcome Chelsea Football Club coaches into school for a fantastic day of high-quality football coaching with our Year 5 and Year 6 classes—and what a session it was!
Despite the less-than-perfect weather, our pupils showed real determination and enthusiasm, heading outside with positive attitudes and ready to take on every challenge. It was brilliant to see everyone embracing the conditions and giving 100% effort from start to finish! 👏
The sessions were carefully structured by the Chelsea coaches, focusing on a range of technical skills and team-based challenges. The children took part in:
🔹 Team-building activities that encouraged communication, leadership and problem-solving🔹 Quick dribbling challenges, developing close ball control, agility and speed
🔹 High-energy drills designed to improve balance, coordination and spatial awareness
The dribbling activities in particular required pupils to keep the ball under tight control while moving at speed—just like professional players. It was fantastic to see the children applying key techniques such as using different parts of their feet, maintaining control under pressure and reacting quickly in changing situations.
Throughout the sessions, there was a strong focus on working as a team, with pupils supporting and encouraging one another. The coaches were hugely impressed with the effort, behaviour and willingness to learn shown by all involved.
Even with the rain making conditions more challenging, our pupils demonstrated excellent resilience and adaptability, continuing to perform at a high level and showing great determination to improve. 🌧️💪
This was a truly enjoyable and inspiring experience, giving pupils a taste of elite-level coaching and helping to develop both their technical football skills and their confidence.
The exciting news is that other year groups will also have the opportunity to take part in these sessions very soon, so watch this space!
