Congratulations to our star netballers

Following their incredible victory last week in the locality event, our Year 6 netball team attended the School Games Organisation’s District Finals Competition.

10 teams made it through to this stage from a starting pool of 57 schools. A busy night under an early spring sun ensued, with the teams playing a round-robin tournament of 9 matches, comprising 6 minutes each. With a 4 minute turnaround between games—both children and supporters found themselves constantly on the move.

The standard of netball was superb, with some fine talent on display and EPJS held their own against some impressive opposition. With 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw under their belt Team EP finished a credible 6th position.

This tight-knit team have grown incredibly as players and as examples of positive sporting behaviour across the season. With the end of the netball season in sight, I’m sure that they will continue to represent the game in a positive light for their secondary schools next year.

Bradley reported, “There were tough challenges, but we pushed through. There was some great play by the team.”
