EPJS experience another fantastic Mile!
Numbers were a little lower than recently as the event was hampered by Covid-absence and threatening weather. Despite this, EPJS still brought a team of 38 children comprising almost half of the total field. In true cross-country weather, with the wind swirling around, it made the event much more challenging than normal and the children should feel even more thrilled at their individual accomplishments.
Teams from across the locality represented their Commonwealth Games countries and there was some highly competitive racing on display - no less than Charlie C (4RS) who was involved in a sprint finish, in which he was just edged out for first place. In the girls' event, Ariella in Year 3 took the prize - an incredible accomplishment for someone in Year 3 when racing against children in years 4,5 and 6.
The children finished with smiles on their faces, but were met by a fierce squall - meaning that Mr. Gwynn sent home the children and their families before the final result was announced.

Congratulations to our winning boys' team and to our girls' team who were a close second! Well done to all of those children that took part and secured best places or times.
As always, we would like to thank Mr. Gwynn for organising the event; our competitors from across the locality for pushing us to be our best; to parents and carers who bore the brunt of the weather from the sidelines and of course to our amazing team of athletes of whom all at EPJS are very proud.
