High 5 Netball - 18/03/25
On Tuesday 18th March, a Year 6 netball event took place at The Angmering School. Seven players made up our team, and the event consisted of four fast-paced games where our team had the opportunity to rotate through various positions on the court, following the rules of High 5 Netball. The focus was on skill development, teamwork, and most importantly, having fun.
Team Composition:
Our team was made up of 7 enthusiastic Year 6 players who embraced the opportunity to learn and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Throughout the event, the players rotated positions, ensuring that each child had the chance to experience different roles on the court, including attack, defense, and mid-court positions.
Game Format:
The event was structured around 4 games, each lasting around 20 minutes. The fast-paced nature of High 5 Netball meant that there was minimal downtime between games, allowing the players to stay engaged and energized throughout the day.

Rotation of Positions: As part of the event, our players rotated through different positions in each game. This gave them a broad experience of the sport and allowed them to improve their understanding of how to play in both attacking and defensive roles. It was great to see how players adapted quickly to new positions, showcasing their versatility and teamwork.

Skills on Display: Throughout the event, it was clear to see the improvement in passing accuracy, shooting technique, and defensive skills. Players worked hard to communicate with each other and support their teammates, which is an essential part of High 5 Netball.
The Games:
Our team played four games, and while the outcomes varied, the overall spirit of the event was one of teamwork and growth. Each game allowed our players to test out different strategies, experiment with their new positions, and focus on working together as a team.
Key Highlights:
- Positional Versatility: It was impressive to see how quickly the players adapted to different positions. Everyone had a chance to play in both attacking and defensive roles, which helped develop their understanding of the game.

Conclusion:
The Year 6 netball event at The Angmering School was a fantastic opportunity for the team to develop their netball skills while having fun in a competitive environment. The team showed great sportsmanship, teamwork, and adaptability, rotating through different positions and continually improving throughout the day. While the scores varied, the most important takeaway was the growth in both individual and team skills.
Overall, it was a successful day that will undoubtedly help the players feel more confident in their netball abilities and eager to take on future challenges.
