Obstacle Course success
After a couple of false starts due to the unpredictable summer showers, the FEPJS sponsored obstacle course finally went ahead this month. A slightly dewy start to the day didn’t dampen spirits and the sun soon dried up the course for the children’s big sponsored event!
A challenging set of obstacles starting with the play trail, through the forest area, over hurdles through a zig-zag tunnel, across the tyres and a sprint to finish seems straight forward when written down but it was certainly a lung busting challenge as many an adult will also confirm!
Each class visited the course in turn throughout the day and the children took it in turns to attack the obstacles at high speed against the clock. Their class teacher also took on the course to a chorus of cheers and jeers; trying -often in vain - to set a challenging time to beat!
The children recorded their personal times and also that of their teacher to take home to try and raise funds for the FEPJS project of improving our outdoor areas, for the enjoyment of all the children.
It was an outstanding day with the children showing off their impressive fitness and agility skills and encouraging each other to set fast times. There were lots of smiles throughout the day.
Thanks to Mrs Lasham for organising the event and also to the children and their generous families who have raised a fantastic £1346.50 for our school.
