Quad Kids = Quad-tastic! 🏃♀️🟣🏃♂️
On Wednesday 6th May, 27 super‑charged athletes from our school headed over to The Angmering School for a KS2 Quad Kids event – and what a quad‑venture it turned out to be!
We proudly entered three teams into the competition:
- a speedy Year 4 team,
- a powerful Year 5/6 team, and
- a brilliant mixed team,
all ready to give it their all across four classic athletics challenges.
Four Events. One Goal. Maximum Effort! 💪
The Quad Kids format kept everyone on their toes as children were split into groups by athlete number and rotated smoothly around the events:
- a 600m long‑distance run (lungs of steel required!),
- a 70m sprint (blink and you’d miss them!),
- a Vortex throw (twist, launch… BOOM 🚀),
- and a long jump (take off, fly high, stick the landing!).
There were highlights everywhere you looked, but a special shout‑out has to go to the 600m run. Every single one of our runners dug deep, showed real grit and determination, and finished the race having given 100% effort from start to finish. Pure perseverance on display 👏
Baton Down the Hatches! 🏁
As if the main event wasn’t exciting enough, the afternoon finished with a thrilling relay race, where the girls powered the baton to the boys in a fast‑and‑furious finale. The cheering was loud, the exchanges were slick and the sprint finishes were nothing short of legendary.
And the Results Are In… 🏆
Drum roll please… 🥁
We were absolutely delighted when the final standings were announced:
- 🥇 Year 4 team – WINNERS!
- 🥇 Year 5/6 team – WINNERS!
A double gold medal performance that truly put the quad in quality!
Final Thoughts ⭐
Whether it was sprinting, throwing, jumping or running long, every child represented our school with enthusiasm, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship. It was a joy to see confidence grow, teamwork flourish and smiles all round.
A huge well done to all 27 athletes – you really went the extra lap and made it a day to remember! 💙🙌

Yours in sport,
Mr J Etherington (PE Lead)
