🏃♂️ Quad Kids Southern Area Finals – A Quad-tastic Effort! 🏅
On Wednesday 10th June, eight of our fantastic Year 4 athletes headed to The Angmering School to compete in the Quad Kids Southern Area Finals—and what an incredible experience it was! Having qualified by winning the previous round, the team arrived full of excitement, determination and plenty of team spirit.
For those new to Quad Kids, the competition is a brilliant all-round athletics challenge where every competitor takes part in four different events:
- 🏃♀️ A sprint
- 🏃♂️ A longer-distance race
- 🎯 A throwing event
- 🦘 A jumping event
The event then builds to a thrilling finale with a relay race, where teamwork, baton changes and speed are put to the ultimate test!
From the very first event, it was clear that this was going to be a high-quality competition. Schools from across the region had brought their very best athletes, creating a buzzing atmosphere and some truly impressive performances. Our team faced tough opposition throughout the afternoon—but they rose to the challenge brilliantly.
Every member of the team showed fantastic effort, resilience and determination. Whether they were powering down the track, launching themselves into jumps, or showing strength and control in the throwing events, our Year 4s gave it their absolute all. There were some superb individual performances, and even more importantly, brilliant encouragement and support for one another throughout the event—true team spirit in action! 💙
The final relay was a real highlight, with our team working together brilliantly and giving one last burst of energy to finish strongly. Loud cheers from teammates and supporters made it an unforgettable moment!
After all the points were added up, we were thrilled to finish in an impressive 7th place overall in such a competitive Southern Area Final. This is a fantastic achievement and something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.
A huge well done to all eight athletes—you represented the school brilliantly and showed what Quad Kids is all about: effort, teamwork, and having a go at everything! 👏
We can’t wait to see what this talented group achieves next… the future of athletics is looking bright! 🌟

Yours in sport,
Mr J Etherington (PE Lead)
