East Preston Junior School

Remembrance Parade - representing our school

Report by Head Boy and Head Girl

Many people gathered at the Royal Legion on Sunday the 10th of November and got ready to parade down the quiet streets of East Preston. As Head Boy and Head Girl, our job is to represent EPJS and we were honoured to be in the parade, on behalf of our school, with Mr Tidd. We all headed towards St Mary’s Church for the service, where we sang hymns and remembered those who bravely fought and died in both World Wars. We then returned to the war memorial, where we found crowds lining the streets, awaiting our arrival. The bugle sounded and everyone paid their respects during a 2-minute silence. Many people laid down their poppy wreaths, including Scouts, some soldiers and us. We can both agree that we were proud to be a part of something so special
