At EPJS, we aim for our children to meet our WELL objectives for PE and sport:
W - Wellbeing.
PE and sport at EPJS actively encourages positive mindsets and wellbeing. When participating in physical activity, all children are: building confidence, resilience and ambition. As well as this, we set goals to challenge, and support children in achieving them to positively impact their wellbeing.
E - Enjoyment.
EPJS strives for excellence and enjoyment consistently and we aim to do the same in PE/sport. All children are actively engaged in PE/physical activity in lessons, during interventions, during competition, at breaktimes and during extra-curricular clubs. Through all of the above and alongside an engaging curriculum, children enjoy PE at EPJS.
L - Lifelong participation.
Through the sporting opportunities offered at EPJS, we aim to develop lifelong participants. We aim to do so by giving them the necessary skill set and attitudes to continue their willingness to explore a range of physical activities in later life.
L - Life skills.
One of our aims for PE and sport is to equip children with necessary skills that are not only relevant for physical activity but necessary for everyday life. Through a balanced PE and sport curriculum, children have opportunities to develop balance, strength, co-ordination, flexibility, teamwork and social skills.
