Entries are now open for the 2020 Schoolsworks Short Story Writing Competition. The competition is open to children from any of the 7 Schoolsworks schools.
Stories can be submitted on any subject or theme and there is no word limit.
Winners will be chosen from three age groups.
- Reception and year 1
- year 2 and 3
- year 4 to year 6
Submitted stories must be mainly the independent work of the child although some minor parental help is acceptable. Stories can be typed or handwritten. If a story is handwritten it will need to be scanned or photographed to be submitted.
There will be book voucher prizes for the winner and runners up in each age category. On top of this, the winning stories will published in a short story collection book which each of the winners and runners up will receive a copy of. A copy of this will also be held in the library of each of the Schoolsworks schools.
A small team of teachers from across the Trust will be judging the stories and winners and runners up will announced around the middle of June.
Please submit entries as typed documents, PDF, photos or scans to email@example.com
The name of the child, their year group and their school must be included in the title of the email.
