KS2 Dance Festival at The Angmering School – Tuesday 13th May
On Tuesday 13th May, 30 children from our school had an exciting opportunity to take part in a fantastic KS2 Dance Festival held at The Angmering School.
The theme of the day was The Romans, and we began by learning a fun and energetic Roman dance. With music and movements inspired by Roman life, everyone enjoyed marching like soldiers, moving like emperors, and exploring what life might have been like in ancient Rome through dance.
After learning the group routine, we split into smaller groups to create our own Roman dance sequences. Each group worked hard to include:
- Two still frames – where we froze in dramatic Roman poses.
- A sequence of actions using different levels – like crouching, standing tall, and even jumping.
- A showcase of special skills – including powerful gladiator-style combat moves, dramatic sword-fighting, and impressive teamwork.
Everyone showed great creativity and enthusiasm, and it was amazing to see how different each group’s dance was. The day ended with a performance where we shared our routines with the other schools. We all cheered each other on and had a brilliant time.
Well done to all the children who took part – you represented our school beautifully with your energy, teamwork and creativity!
Yours in sport,
Mr J Etherington
