🏃♂️🏃♀️ The Angmering Mile: A Fantastic Day of Running and Smiles! 🏅
On Tuesday 16th September, something very exciting happened at The Angmering School — the Angmering Mile! Children from all year groups came together to take part in this fun and energetic event, and what a brilliant day it was!
Between 60 and 70 runners from our school joined in — a fantastic effort by everyone! The weather was kind and stayed dry, which made it perfect for running. The event is called the Angmering Mile because the children run two laps around the school field, which is about a mile in total.
For many children, running a whole mile is a big challenge, but that didn’t stop them from giving it their all. It was especially lovely to see so many Year 3s taking part in their first ever junior school event — well done, Year 3!
As the runners passed by after their first lap, parents, teachers, and sports leaders cheered them on. This gave the children a big boost and brought huge smiles to their faces. Everyone worked incredibly hard and had lots of fun.
At the finish line, children proudly showed their place cards, no matter where they came. Every runner was celebrated, and the atmosphere was full of joy and encouragement.
🎉 Notable successes included:
- Boys: 1st, 2nd and 4th places!
- Girls: 4th place!
We hope all the children — and even more — will take part in future events. Next up is the Santa Dash at Christmas time. Get ready to run with Santa hats and festive cheer!
