Tough times for EP netballers and footballers

With Storm Eunice baring down on the south of England, EPJS faced their own storm force winds in the guise of local rivals St John’s, who were on top form and blew EPJS away with a strong performance in both disciplines.

Football: East Preston 0 - 3 St John’s

Mr Smith’s largely Year 5 team struggled to maintain the fabulous standard set in their previous outing and were outmanoeuvred by their counterparts from Findon in a match that finished 0-3.

Netball: East Preston 3 - 9 St John’s

An inexperienced netball team, still getting to grips with the change to High-5 rules, found the greater height advantage of their opponents an additional challenge and despite a closer matched final 2 quarters, they were comfortably beaten by the Findon outfit in a game that finished 9-3 to St John’s.

Thank you to our supporters and our opponents St John’s, to Mrs Bush for refereeing and to our EPJS players who never lost heart and played well with smiles all around.

We look forward to an even busier second half of Spring Term with some real sporting highlights to come. Happy half term.
