Windlesham House Cross Country - 07/02/25

Date: Friday 7th February
Location: Windlesham House School

On Friday 7th February, Year 5 and 6 students took part in the exciting Cross Country event at Windlesham House School. Despite the cold and wet weather, the runners showed incredible determination and teamwork as they tackled the challenging course.

Weather Conditions:

The day was very chilly, with cold temperatures and a lot of rain. The wet ground made the race even more difficult, but the children didn’t let the weather stop them. Many runners slipped and splashed through the mud, but they kept going, showing great courage and sportsmanship.

The Course:

The course was set across the school’s fields, winding around trees, grass and even a golf course! The rain had turned some parts of the ground into muddy puddles, adding an extra challenge for the runners. However, the students pushed through the slippery patches, focused on completing the race and supporting each other.

The Races:

Each runner gave their best effort, and the competition was tough! The children ran in different age and gender groups, with Year 5 and Year 6 students taking turns to race. There were moments of excitement and encouragement as friends cheered on their peers from the sidelines.

The Results:

Though many children crossed the finish line with muddy shoes and soaked clothes, every runner received a round of applause for their determination. The top finishers in each group were celebrated, but the real highlight of the event was seeing everyone complete the race, showing true sportsmanship and resilience.

Conclusion:

The Year 5 and 6 Cross Country event was a fantastic display of team spirit and perseverance. Even with the cold and wet weather, everyone did their very best and made the most of the challenging conditions. It was a day full of fun, excitement, and a sense of achievement for all who took part.

A huge well done to all the students for their hard work and enthusiasm!
