Year 3/4 Boys' Football Finals & Year 5/6 Hi 5 Netball

Due to rain earlier this week, Hi 5 Netball took place on Thursday rather than the originally planned Tuesday. This coincided with the Year 3/4 football locality finals. With both events taking place simultaneously, the atmosphere really was fantastic with lots of supporters present.

A Year 3 team (run by Mr Lane) and Year 4 team (run by Mr Smith) took part in the football tournament. I was informed that games were very competitive throughout! Both Mr Smith and Mr Lane noted that it was brilliant to see the children expressing themselves through the sport outside of the familiar classroom environment. In the end, results were very positive and one team even finished third!

Over to the netball! Regardless of the somewhat unfamiliar format of Hi 5 Netball, children organised themselves excellently. Due to this, they were ready and quick to start off. The organisation was carried through into the games and a tactical masterclass was put on through quick passing and movement. After the games had been played, it was revealed that the EPJS team had finished joint first - qualifying for the next round of Hi 5 fixtures.

Yours in sport as always,

Mr J Etherington (PE Lead)
