Year 3/4 Indoor Athletics
On Tuesday 28th January, Year 3 and 4 students gathered at The Angmering School for a fun-filled Athletics Tournament. Everyone was excited to compete and show off their skills in different events. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy as students cheered on their friends and teammates!
Events and Activities
The tournament had a variety of exciting events for all the children to take part in. These included:
- Sprints: The race was on as students lined up at the starting line. Everyone was eager to run as fast as they could, and the competition was tight. The fastest runners in each class earned points for their teams in each respective race.
- Long Jump/Triple Jump: Students took turns jumping as far as they could. It was amazing to see how high and far some children could leap! The longest jumps were measured, and winners were announced at the end.
- Relay Races: Teamwork was key in the relay races! Students passed the baton smoothly to their teammates, racing to the finish line. The relays were full of energy and excitement, and everyone worked together to try to win for their team.
- Chest Throw: In this event, students threw a basketball as far as they could. It wasn’t easy, but some athletes showed great strength and skill.
- Obstacle Race: This fun and challenging race had everyone collaborating. Each competitor had to sprint, weave in and out of cones and complete a speed bounce before passing the baton.
Team Spirit and Support
The tournament wasn’t just about winning, though. What made the day even more special was the teamwork and support between students. Everyone cheered each other on, whether they were competing or just watching. It was clear that the spirit of friendship and encouragement was the true highlight of the day.
Conclusion
The Year 3/4 Athletics Tournament was a huge success! Not only did the students have fun competing, but they also learned the value of teamwork, perseverance, and cheering for each other. We can't wait to see what next year's tournament will bring!
