Year 5/6 Cross Country Qualifiers

On a bright and exciting day, students from Year 5 and Year 6 gathered to compete in the Cross Country Qualifiers. The event was held on the Angmering School field, with students ready to race against each other and show their determination, strength, and sportsmanship.

The race was a big challenge, with participants running a long distance through the grassy course. The air was filled with excitement as the students lined up at the starting line, eager to begin.

As the race started, the runners sprinted off with energy and enthusiasm. They faced various obstacles along the way, including sharp turns and slight uphill sections. Despite the challenges, the athletes showed great perseverance, pushing themselves to keep going.

The cheering from their teachers and family members added to the excitement, and the runners encouraged each other along the way. Some students ran ahead at a fast pace, while others focused on steady, consistent efforts.

At the end of the race, everyone was tired but proud of their efforts. Some students had qualified for the next stage of the competition, while others were happy knowing they had done their best. The event was not just about winning, but about challenging themselves and supporting each other.

The top finishers in each race will now go on to represent the school in the upcoming Southern Area cross country competition. Congratulations to all the runners, and good luck to those who qualified!

This event was a fantastic reminder of the importance of teamwork, determination, and doing your best. We are all looking forward to seeing more great performances in the future!

Yours in sport,

Mr J Etherington (PE Lead)
