Year 5/6 Football & Netball: The Great Wall of East Preston
Yesterday (Thursday 30th November), EPJS participated in a locality fixture of netball and football. The amount of participants was fantastic to see in such cold weather.
The netball team, which was lead by Mr Coates, played their game against St. John's. Despite their best efforts, the game finished 9-0 in favour of St. John's but children came away positively having enjoyed the chance to compete. Mr Coates reflected on a tough game and labelled it a 'learning experience'.
The football team (lead by Mr Etherington) played against Ferring. It was goalless for a long time before East Preston took the lead. Following this, the boys raised their intensity and goals kept coming. EPJS ended up winning 6-0 and are still unbeaten in our locality fixtures. After the game, two defenders labelled themselves as 'The Great Wall of East Preston' due to their impressive defensive record (hence the title).
Next up, the Santa Dash on Tuesday 5th December!
Mr J Etherington
