Year 5/6 Athletics Report
The Year 5 and 6 Athletics event was an exciting event filled with energy, teamwork, and a lot of sportsmanship! It gave all students a chance to show off their skills in running, jumping, throwing, and even teamwork. Whether you’re a sprinter or a long jumper, everyone had a chance to take part and give it their best shot.
Events: The athletics event consisted of several key activities:
-
Sprints:
The 60-metre sprint was one of the most exciting races. Students raced as fast as they could to see who could cross the finish line first. It was a race against the clock and each other, with lots of cheering from friends and classmates. -
Long Jump/triple jump:
In the long jump, students tried to leap as far as possible from the takeoff point. It required speed, strength, and balance. Everyone gave their best effort to jump as far as they could, and the competition was fierce! -
Relay Races:
Teamwork was on full display in the relay races. Each team had to pass the baton smoothly and run their fastest. The crowd cheered loudly as teams worked together to finish the race as quickly as possible. -
Throwing Events:
Students also took part in throwing events. These events tested strength and technique. It was amazing to see how far everyone could throw, and some students really impressed everyone with their skill!
Achievements and Highlights: The highlight of the day was seeing how everyone pushed themselves to do their best. Many students set personal records, whether it was their fastest time or their longest jump. Lots also showed great sportsmanship, cheering on friends who were competing in different events.
One of the most exciting moments came during the relay race when teams worked together to pass the baton perfectly, and the final sprint was a nail-biter! Everyone was thrilled to see how well everyone performed, regardless of whether they won a medal or not.
Conclusion: The Year 5/6 Athletics event was a huge success! It allowed students to demonstrate their athletic abilities, work in teams, and cheer each other on. It was a day full of fun, laughter, and memories. Most importantly, it reminded everyone how important it is to participate, do your best, and support your classmates. Well done to all who took part!
