Match Report: Year 6 Football and Netball Fixture against Ferring Primary School
Date: Thursday, 13th March
Venue: The Angmering School
On Thursday 13th March, our Year 6 football and netball teams travelled to The Angmering School for an exciting fixture against Ferring Primary School. The matches were played with great energy and skill, and both EPJS teams secured confident wins, showcasing their strength and teamwork throughout the games.
Football
The football team came out of the blocks with determination and control. Playing two ten-minute halves, the team quickly asserted dominance. The first half saw excellent passing and tactical play, with our midfield controlling the game and delivering some fantastic crosses into the attacking area. A well-timed finish from our striker opened the scoring.
In the second half, our defence remained solid, and the team continued to press forward. The players communicated well, maintaining possession and playing with confidence. Despite a few strong efforts from Ferring, our goalkeeper made some key saves, ensuring we kept a clean sheet. The final whistle blew with a comfortable victory.
Netball
The netball team followed suit with an equally dominant performance. Like the football match, the players showed great teamwork and skill across both ten-minute halves. The attacking players moved swiftly around the court, creating excellent space and making some precise passes. Their shooting was accurate, and they quickly built a solid lead.
Our defenders were strong and alert, keeping Ferring's shooters under constant pressure and blocking key passes. The mid-court players worked tirelessly to support both the attack and defence, ensuring a smooth transition throughout the match. As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard reflected a well-deserved victory in our favour, a fitting end to a dominant performance.
Conclusion
Both teams displayed excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, securing impressive victories. It was a great display of how well the players have developed throughout the season, and a testament to their hard work and commitment. The confidence from these wins will undoubtedly boost the teams as they look forward to future fixtures. Well done to all the players, coaches, and supporters who made the day such a success!
