Year 5/6 Locality Fixtures - 30/01/25

On Thursday last week, our netball and football teams continued with their league matches against other local schools.

The netball team, once again lead by Mr Coates, wore their famous mustard yellow bibs. Prior to the fixture, the team was slightly short on numbers. That is until two heroes stepped forward to ensure that the team had full numbers. In both games, the netball team faced off against tough, well-drilled opponents. Despite this, they were successful in both due to the intensity which they played at.

The football team, lead by Mr Etherington, donned their light blue strip. Similarly to the netball team, on the day we were short on numbers, until someone stepped in last minute to ensure the fixture could be fulfilled. In what was a very different team, the team remained positive and grew into the games. In the first game, they started strongly but were broken down; resulting in a loss. In the second game, the team seemed re-energised and dominated much of the play. However, the opposition remained strong and caught EPJS on the counter. A very hard fought encounter.

Here's looking forward to upcoming fixtures and further league games!

Yours in sport,

Mr J Etherington (PE Lead)
