🏏 Year 6 Shine as the Angmering All-Stars!

There was excitement in the air as our Year 6 pupils headed to The Angmering School for a fantastic after-school stoolball fixture—a traditional Sussex striking and fielding game, often compared to cricket but played with its own unique twist!

To ensure we had a full team ready for action, we were joined by two pupils from another school. Together, they formed a unified and spirited squad, proudly competing under the name The Angmering All-Stars—and what a performance they produced!

🔥 Batting Brilliance

Winning the toss meant we took to the crease first, and the All-Stars wasted no time in showing their attacking intent. Each batting pair faced 12 balls, and from the very first delivery, it was clear the team meant business.

The boundary rope was kept busy as our batters struck an impressive combination of powerful 4s and towering 6s, demonstrating excellent hand-eye coordination and timing. Even more pleasing was the communication between pairs, with sharp calling and clever running between the wickets turning good shots into great scores.

It was a confident, composed and highly productive innings—setting a challenging total for the opposition to chase!

🎯 Fielding Firepower

With a strong score on the board, it was time to defend—and the team rose superbly to the challenge. The fielding display was packed with energy, skill and teamwork.

Accurate, consistent bowling kept the pressure firmly on the opposition batters
A number of fantastic catches showcased quick reactions and safe hands
Excellent communication and teamwork ensured the ball was returned swiftly toward the wicket, limiting scoring opportunities

Every player contributed, working together with real determination and focus to protect their total.

🏆 All-Stars Take the Victory!

Thanks to their all-round performance, particularly the disciplined and confident fielding display, The Angmering All-Stars secured a well-deserved victory!

The fixture was a brilliant example of cooperation, sportsmanship and skill, especially with players coming together from different schools to form one cohesive and successful team.

This was a fantastic afternoon of sport, filled with encouragement, teamwork and plenty of smiles. The children represented the school brilliantly, showing not only their growing stoolball skills but also their ability to support, communicate and perform under pressure.
