Family support
There are a number of agencies and organisations which offer support to families with matters from mental health to special educational needs. Some of these are listed here for parents to access directly.

Mental health and emotional wellbeing
The West Sussex Single Point of Access (SPoA) is a dedicated service which provides a simplified single route to access specialist emotional wellbeing and mental health support.
The Child and Adolscent Mental Health service has provided some online webinars addressing key areas such as anxiety, autism and eating disorders.
Further online webinars are also available from the Norfolk & Suffolk trust.
West Sussex MIND offers a range of free training webinars to help parents and carers support their young person's mental health
School nurse - child health and wellbeing
- Health for Kids website
Parents can access the school nurse by texting 07312 277163. You can use this anonymous text service at any time and the school nursing team will return your message by the next working day.
NSPCC resources
The NSPCC provides a range of resources for families through their website, as well as signposting to other services. Full details are in the attachment here:
Special Educational Needs
The West Sussex Parent Carer Forum is a charity for parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities(SEND). They support parent carers by providing information, support and training.
- Autism Central South East Hub (led by Aspens)
Aspens is the Regional Hub for the South East for Autism Central. This is a new programme, providing high-quality and accessible autism information, education and coaching for families and carers, which is co-delivered by autistic people, families and carers.
Aspens offers support to people on the autism spectrum and their families.
Reaching Families is a parent-carer led charity which aims to support families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities through the delivery of information, training and peer support.
